Our
history begins in 1949, when Ioannis Pallas, an experienced printer
already, established a small printing house in Nikea, Piraeus. Its
first mechanical equipment was very advanced for its time: a semi-automatic
letterpress machine.
During the hard times of the 50s, the printing house called "TYPO
TECHNAL - I. PALLAS" is developing rapidly. Continuously renewing
its equipment, it becomes one of the first printing houses in Greece
that possesses new, fully automatic letterpress machinery. In the
area of Piraeus, its reputation spreads, based on the personal (effort)
of Ioannis Pallas, the quality his production and the effective and
responsible cooperation with his customers and collaborators. Thus,
not surprisingly, the majority of the most important customers of
that time are still doing business with the firm.
In 1997, the firm moves to a newly built, industrial building of
1000 m2 at 235 Thivon Ave. Since 1969 , it has already entered the
area of multicolor offset printing, following the progress and the
trends of that time. The sons of Ioannis Pallas are graduating from
the Higher School of Graphic and Decorative Arts of the Technical
College of Athens and the firm is now called "PRESS OFFSET - I.
PALLAS & SONS". (The photograph was published in a graphic arts
magazine in Czechoslovakia in which it is mentioned as one of the
most modern printing houses in Greece.)
In 1991, the second generation of the family takes over the firm
PALLAS - GRAPHIC ARTS Co, which expands its activities in the wider
area of Graphic Arts. The continuous modernization, the persistence
in quality, regardless of the cost, and the personal relationship
with the customers, based on mutual trust, have been for the last 50
years the basic principles of the firm.
